Fundraising Fun in Alcester

On Saturday 2nd September funeral arranger Chris O’Brien from the Alcester branch held a fundraising day for Macmillan in honour of a local lady who sadly lost her battle with Cancer.
There was a tombola, a raffle with prizes including wine, fruit and veg shop voucher, two £10 PSW vouchers, money box (made by the florist) and a Shellac treatment voucher from Linda’s nails. There was also guess the number of smarties, pin a cake on the memory tree and busking in the lane courtesy of Dave Skinner.
The event was a real community success with local businesses donating the raffle prizes and food for the BBQ. A grand total of £700 was raised.
Chris said; “It was a great day with an upbeat atmosphere for such a great cause. We would like to thank the local community for their generosity and support”.
Special guests on the day also included the Mayor of Alcester and the town Court Leet.
