Donations helping to keep emergency teams in the sky

Woking Funeral Service has raised £850 for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

The money was raised during a Choice funeral plan promotion where for every plan purchased the branch donated £50 to their chosen charity.

Funeral  Director Caitlin Crispin – Maguire and Funeral Service Operative Alan Wilks were delighted to hand over a cheque for £850 to the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Caitlin said: ‘Alan and I were privileged enough to be invited to visit the Redhill Aerodrome to meet the dedicated team and hear all about the work they do within the community. We were able to find out that the money we donated could  fund aircraft fuel for up to eight missions which is incredible.’

The money donated will support Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance to continue to provide a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for patients who have suffered trauma or serious medical emergencies. Their headquarters and forward operating base are located at Rochester Airport, with their aircraft hangered and maintained at Redhill Aerodrome. The crews can reach any part of the region within 25 minutes. Last year they helped over 2,000 people in life-threatening conditions.
