Aaron Black donate gift bags to Azalea Court Care Home

May and Khadijah, Funeral Arrangers and Administrators at Aaron Black in Edmonton donated gift bags to Azalea Court Care home. This donation was for Father’s Day this year and for gentlemen residents at the care home.

May and Khadijah provided thirty-seven gift bags and delivered them a few days before Father’s Day for the residents to enjoy. Each bag included a packet of biscuits, a chocolate bar, a handkerchief, and a bottle of some lovely smelling body wash.

May & Khadijah have said: “The care home staff said that the gentleman enjoyed them”.

Aaron Black Funeral Directors are planning to get involved with similar donations in the future.

James Hawes and Goodchild donates gift bags on Father’s Day

Alison Orrow a Funeral Arranger and Administrator at James Hawes and Goodchild in Highams Park gave out four gift bags for Father’s Day. 

The gift bags included: Maltesers, no added sugar chocolate bars and a hanky and were gifted to Gracewell of Chingford. They are a local care home which James Hawes & Goodchild, Highams Park have previously donated to.

Alison said: “both residents and staff are happy with and appreciative of our gesture and said thank you, that’s lovely”

Wm. Dodgson and Son donates to Breakfast Club

The Head Teacher at Ash Tree School contacted Jackie Higgins a Funeral Arranger at Wm. Dodgson and Son asking if they could help with the breakfast club. They were struggling to feed all the children, this shocked Jackie and her Area Development Manager Wendy Ambler. Wm. Dodgson and Son had previously worked with Ash Tree School supplying the school Easter eggs each year, and were happy to help.

Wm. Dodgson and Son in Kippax donated twenty-five cereal boxes for the Breakfast Club at Ash Tree School.  The breakfast club gives the school children breakfast before they start school.

The Funeral Services have promoted this by putting posters in their windows and are taking more donations for the school.  They have currently received another ten boxes of cereal through spreading awareness of the cause.

The school was very grateful for Wm. Dodgson and Son’s help and are aiming to continue their collection.

M M Broad & Son celebrates National Senior Citizens Day

M M Broad & Son Funeral Director celebrates National Senior Citizens Day on the 21st of August 2021 by giving gifts to local volunteers in Charity Shops and Care Homes.  

The aim of the event was to thank older volunteers within the local area for their help in the community.

Lorraine a Funeral Arranger/Administrator at M M Broad & Son included: a pack of tissues, hand gel, sugar free sweets, biscuits, a pen, and a Choice keyring in her 30 thank you bags.  

The gift bags were given to senior citizens who volunteer their time in local charity shops and helping with covid vaccines.  

The volunteers chosen included Stephen and Karen Mitchell who helped with Covid Vaccinations. Karen is a former nurse and Stephen helped with admin.

Other thank you bags were given to: North London Hospice, Cancer Research shop, British Heart Foundation and Barnardo’s.

Lorraine Gould said: “Everyone thought it was a lovely idea for their older volunteers”.

Raffle prize donated by John Blenkiron & Son for Charity Golf Day

The Charity Golf Day took place on the 2nd of September 2021 at Barnard Castle Golf Club. The day was for a great cause The Great North Air Ambulance Service which gives prehospital care to patients in need and treat hundreds of injured people across the North of England.

This year’s Charity Golf Day included a competition where prizes could be won!

Joanna from John Blenkiron & Son Funeral Directors, Barnard Castle kindly donated two raffle prizes including a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates on John Blenkiron & Son’s behalf.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service sent a handwritten thank you note to Joanna.

The note said: “your support is greatly appreciated, and a significant amount of money was raised for such a worthy cause”.

Wm. Dodgson and Son donates to Temple Newsam Colton School

Lee Austin Funeral Arranger at Wm. Dodgson and Son, Halton donated a last-minute prize of a bottle of vodka to Temple Newsam Colton School.

Wm. Dodgson and Son participate every year making donations to Temple Newsam Colton School’s Fayre. Lee Austin said, “the prize was supplied last minute due to covid”.

The school had made the decision to move the Fayre online doing a virtual raffle, with parents buying raffle tickets for online prizes. 

Lee Austin has continued donating giving chocolate hamper to The Woodman Pub, for Special Needs and Parent Support, helping to raise £1104.09!
