Raising awareness for sight charity

Henry Ison and Son Funeral Directors dedicated their window space to help raise awareness of the charity ‘Fight for Sight’.
As someone in the world goes blind every five seconds, Fight for Sight’s mission is to stop sight loss in its tracks by funding pioneering eye research.
The awareness display was organised by Funeral Arranger Elizabeth Armstrong and proved a success, with many people taking the time to stop and read the information displayed.
To inject a little fun into the campaign, and raise funds as well as awareness of the charity, Elizabeth set up a ‘guess the celebrity behind the window’ game charging £1 per go, which made £15.
Elizabeth said: “I was really pleased with the response, I hope that it has made people aware of the research that goes into the prevention of blindness, and I intend to continue to raise awareness and money in the future for the charity.”
