To commemorate supporting the community for 42 years, M M Broad & Son in Barnet held an open day on the 18th July, which included a re-dedication of the Chapel of Rest by Father Paul Walmsley-McCLeod, Area Dean of Central Barnet and independent funeral celebrant Jonathan Kustow.

Robin said: “We wanted to open our doors to the public so they could celebrate this occasion with us. There was a great turnout on the day and we were honoured to have the Deputy Mayor join us.” Live music was provided by a pianist and a number of white doves were released. There was a Choice stand to promote the services offered by the branch and a stand for the North London Hospice, a local charity that the branch works with, who help those with life-limiting illness.

A memorial corner was also set up, so people attending could light a candle and write a message to remember their loved ones. Robin said: “A fantastic day was had by
all. It was a brilliant way to celebrate the success of the branch over the years.”
