Chit-chat coffee afternoon

William H Painter at Castle Bromwich held a chit-chat coffee afternoon on 7th August for recently bereaved people.

Reverend Jacqui Wilkinson was in attendance to provide support and comfort to those in need and the aim of the afternoon was to bring the community together in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Around 15 people attended through the afternoon including two local police officers from nearby Chelmsley Wood who stopped by to say hello and indulge in a piece of cake.

Funeral Arranger Jeanette Husselbee said “The highlight of the day for me was seeing people getting together and having a chat.  It is so important people know we are here to support them for as long as they need it, my door is always open”.

During the afternoon, a raffle was drawn and money raised donated to the Kingshurst Under 12’s girls football club, £40 was raised.

Jeanette hopes to organise more events like this in the future for people to get together.
