John Nodes in Ladbroke Grove had carnival fever this year with their Notting Hill Carnival themed window display. The branch forms part of the procession route and this year asked members of the public to bring in photos of carnival from years gone by. This appeal generated a great response from the local community and proved to be a real talking point, with some even calling into the branch to compliment the display.
Funeral Arranger Hayley Mullins said” The team at Nodes are proud to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community and we are already planning our display for 2018”.
Funeral Director Robin Taylor Jones said “There is always an air of apprehension, anticipation and excitement around carnival time. The atmosphere is electric”.
Notting Hill Carnival is the second biggest in the world behind the Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and is the largest street party in Europe.
