Goals 4 GOSH Surpasses £275,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

Goals 4 GOSH, the fundraising initiative led by Jamie Groves, Divisional Performance Director for Funeral Partners’ East Division, has surpassed £275,000 raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity since 2021.

The impressive total of £275,423 has been raised through the annual Goals 4 GOSH football match and a series of additional fundraising events, bringing together colleagues, businesses, sponsors, volunteers and supporters in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

What began as a charity football match has grown into a much wider community fundraising initiative, helping to support the vital work of one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. Supported by principal sponsor Funeral Partners, the initiative has brought together colleagues, businesses, volunteers and supporters, all united by a shared commitment to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Behind the success of Goals 4 GOSH is Jamie’s unwavering commitment to the cause, supported by co-organiser Charlotte Styles and a dedicated team of volunteers whose efforts have helped the initiative grow year after year.

The relationship between Jamie and GOSH extends far beyond fundraising. Alongside leading Goals 4 GOSH, Jamie volunteers regularly across GOSH and has become one of the charity’s ambassadors, supporting patients, families and charitable initiatives.

During a recent visit to GOSH, Jamie spent the day supporting the charity before marking the latest fundraising milestone. He was also surprised by members of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity team, who organised a small tea and cake gathering to thank everyone involved in Goals 4 GOSH for their continued dedication and support over the years.

Jamie said: “Having the opportunity to volunteer and support GOSH on a regular basis and serve as one of the charity’s ambassadors has shown me first-hand the incredible work that takes place there every day. Seeing the difference that the charity makes for children and families provides all the motivation we need to keep pushing Goals 4 GOSH forward. To have raised more than £275,000 since 2021 is something everyone involved should be enormously proud of. Charlotte and I are incredibly grateful to all of the sponsors, players, volunteers, supporters and donors who have helped make this possible. This achievement belongs to every single person who has supported Goals 4 GOSH along the way. I was genuinely touched by the surprise thank-you from the team at GOSH. It was a wonderful reminder of why we continue to do what we do.”

The funds raised help Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity support the hospital’s world-leading work, funding pioneering research, advanced medical equipment, family support services and improvements to the hospital environment.

Reflecting on the milestone, Jamie added: “While it’s important to celebrate what has been achieved, we’re already looking ahead to the future. There is a fantastic community behind Goals 4 GOSH and we’re excited to continue building on this success and supporting the incredible work of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity for years to come.”

The latest fundraising total is a testament to the dedication of everyone who has supported Goals 4 GOSH since 2021 and highlights the powerful impact that community fundraising can have when people come together behind a shared cause.
